THE PICOPRESSO an Espresso Revolution for the Coffee Traveller
If you’ve been following along on this blog for any period of time, you’ll know that I LOVE to travel, and when I travel, I tend to bring coffee stuff with me – sometimes all the coffee stuff.
It was a few years ago, on my first big bike trip across Spain back in late 2016, that I had my first chance to field test one of Wacaco’s earliest products, the Minipresso.
I like my espresso, and when on the road for 5-8 hours a day, you can imagine that an intense shot of coffee comes in real handy.
Fast forward to today, and Wacaco has already released a whole gamut of portable coffee gear like the Nanopresso, the Pipamoka (a very unique vacuum brewer), the Cuppamoka (a portable pour-over), and now finally the most professional hand-powered espresso brewer of their line-up, the Picopresso.
I was fortunate enough to get my hands on one of the first prototypes of the Picopresso earlier this year when Wacaco was starting Picopresso campaign strategy, and I’ve had a great experience with it ever since.
I will say, it takes a bit of getting used to if A) you’ve never used a Wacaco product before, or B) you’ve never brewed espresso before, but it is super intuitive and produces such superior results when done right.
Above are a few photos of the Picopresso in action, from the streets of Rome, to my own balcony, but I felt that one of the most applicable moments was when I took the original prototype on my trip to a Spanish coffee farm in The Canary Islands.
In the case of this farm, the coffee producer did have an espresso machine on-site, but many around the world do not, and we were able to simulate what it would be like to try the espresso-version of a farmer’s coffee right among the coffee plants themselves.
That’s a surreal feeling!
And, below is the full product video so click into that one for the whole visual run-down.
And lastly, if you’ve been following Wacaco for a while, you may be interested in a video I’ll be putting out on my own Youtube channel very soon, a side-by-side of the Nanopresso with the Picopresso – outlining some of the main benefits of each, and why you might choose either one.
This one’s already been requested many times, so now would be a great time to head over to my channel HERE, and subscribe so you can tune in when the time comes, and join me on my coffee journeys :)
See you out there, Coffee Travellers!
